Thank you Cedars for the excellent analysis of the GB's most recent gaffe. I agree that they are their own worst enemies. I think they have forgotten that pride comes before a crash! As the saying goes " give them enough rope and they will hang themselves ". This recent change looks like a panic-induced decision to desperately hang onto control. Perhaps they will implode afterall. Leslie

The Governing Body - their own worst enemy!
by cedars ini've been giving some thought recently to what's going on in the minds of the individual governing body members, and what makes them tick.
the process of listening to their talks for my "getting to know you" youtube video series, though draining, has been very enlightening.
i now feel i know some of their individual personalities a little better than i did previously.. then there has been the tumultuous events of 2012. it's been interesting to note the way the governing body has responded to some of these issues, and how in most cases their responses have been woefully inadequate or even counter-productive as regards their long-term interests.. for example:.

THE GOOD NEWS WILL BE POSTED LATER TODAY!!!!!
by EndofMysteries ina video will be posted later today where all the mysteries of god, the disgusting thing causing desolation, all the contradictions in the bible, why god in the old testament seemed so cruel, why was satan created if god is good, how is god love?
all of the prophecies jesus had foretold which were hidden and lost yet being fullfilled the entire time.
this is the good news that will then spread worldwide, and then the end will come.

EOM: Haste makes waste. Take your time. It can be difficult when you are so excited about sharing the information that has obviously meant so much to you. It would be a shame after all your effort to rush and not present the material in the way you had intended. We will still be here next month when you have everything ready to go. Leslie

My Near Death Experience
by Dogpatch inhi y'all, just wanted to let you know i was out for a stroll on my bicycle for exercise last week and got hit by a car 100 yards from my house.
it was a hit and run.
i got up with only minor bruises but felt really dizzy and asked one of my roommates to take me to the hospital as i was dizzy and felt i was going to pass out on the spot in the middle of the street.

(((Randy))) so glad to know that you will be okay. Your hospital experience was awful. Some people just shouldn't be in the medical profession. A smile and a few minutes to explain why they are doing whatever it is they are doing would go a long way. It's been a horrendous year for a lot of us. Thank god it's almost over. Just keep telling yourself it's almost 2013! lol -Leslie

What a lovely way to start 2013. The ever evolving control of the R&F continues to reach new lows. There must be a LOT not following orders from the GB for them to keep flogging the shunning stance so regularly. I feel pity for those of us out who are actively being shunned and pity for those who are being brain-washed into doing the unnatural. It is extremely disturbing. Hopefully this will wake some more up. -Leslie-

A Prayer Of Thanks And Repentence
by DT inthank you jehovah god for this meeting which is really a luxurious spiritual banquet.
we appreciate the way your son appointed the governing body to provide us with this rich spiritual food at the proper time.. if there are any changes or revisions presented tonight to past truths, please help us to accept them immediately as in a "twinkling of an eye" so that we will not be out of step with your grand celestial chariot for even a moment.. we realize that we all fall short of pleasing you many times and beg you humbly for your forgiveness.
in particular, we must ask you to forgive us for placing our trust and loyalty in the group of anointed on earth, since we mistakenly thought that they were appointed by your son to feed us.

That would be a laugh if someone were to give that prayer. I can picture it now...all heads bowed, some nodding in agreement...and then the big WTF moment as the elder body rushes the platform calling on Jehovah's er..the name of the GB and quickly escorts Br. Obviously Apostate out to the parking area out back and start pelting him with large stones. Leslie

How do you work through the Anger
by jworld inhow do you deal with the anger when your parents stop talking to you?
my partner says i should continue to confront them but it builds so much anger in me and i sometimes i think i should just let it go and bring balance back to my own life.
it's sort of sureal to mourn your parents while they are still alive.

As harsh as this may sound, we either choose to remain angry or we choose to let it go. I think you made an excellent point in your opening post about bringing balance back into your life. When I left I wallowed in pity at the loss of contact with my 2 adult children. I wasted time dwelling on the if onlys. If only they would see through the BS, if only the Wt would crash and burn, if only...Well after wasting considerable time (approx. 4 yrs) I realized that my anger/grieving over this whole mess was allowing the Cult to rob me of my well-deserved happiness. They had already taken the bulk of my life and I wasn't letting them have any more! Sometimes you just have to let it go and realize you will most likely not change their mind.
The organization likes to point at the ex-JW's and say, "see how unhappy they are since leaving". As one poster remarked during my pre-posting on JWN, the best example is to live life well. At least this way at least we will be happy and who knows this in itself may trigger them to think. Just my .02 cents.
All the best to you, and things will get better! Leslie
